Maidstone Men’s 4 th XI started their league season in emphatic style by slotting nine goals past Holcombe in a comprehensive victory.
 
The home side controlled the game from start to finish with an exhibition of pacey, free-flowing hockey, to which the opposition could find no answer.

Richard Chillcott netted a brace of goals, as did Mark Weller, Gavin Mell and man of the match Tim Chambers; Andy Moodie added the other. Holcombe could only grab one goal of their own from a rare attack, leaving the final score 9-1 to the blues.
